Therapy & Counselling in Chamonix

About Fleur Jaworski-Richards

Therapist in the Chamonix valley and online, providing English & French Psychotherapeutic Counselling

I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor trained in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. Transactional Analysis is based on the theory that our childhood development and resulting communication style may create repeated patterns of behaviour that negatively affect our lives and relationships.

I work with clients to establish clear goals and desired outcomes, fostering an open and honest relationship to safely explore and gain insights into their issues and patterns. My goal is to help clients increase their self-awareness, identifying emotions and triggers, whilst challenging limiting beliefs. I facilitate the process for behavioural change, helping clients to recognise their strengths and build resilience, encouraging self-compassion and autonomy. I offer a space to reflect on the integration of new insights, regularly assessing and reviewing progress towards their goals.

More about me

I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor offering individual therapy and couples counselling in Les Houches, across the Chamonix valley, and online to clients throughout France, Switzerland, and internationally. Sessions are available in English and French.

My clinical training is in Transactional Analysis psychotherapy at the Metanoia Institute, London, an MSc programme accredited by UKCP and the European Association for Transactional Analysis (EATA), awarded by Middlesex University. I work within a relational framework, which means the quality of the therapeutic relationship is central to the work itself.

How I work

My approach is grounded in relational Transactional Analysis, a contemporary form of psychotherapy that places the therapeutic relationship at the heart of the work and draws on attachment theory, developmental psychology, and unconscious relational processes. Relational TA understands that early relational experiences shape recurring patterns of thought, feeling, and behaviour that can quietly govern adult life, in our closest relationships, in our working lives, and in how we relate to ourselves.

In practice, the work is unhurried and exploratory. We might notice the patterns that feel stuck or self-defeating, make sense of how they developed, become more aware of emotions and the beliefs we hold about ourselves and others, and find new ways of relating, both within the therapy itself and in everyday life. Self-compassion, autonomy, and resilience tend to emerge through that process rather than being the goal of it.

Sessions are 50 minutes, usually weekly. I offer short-term work focused on a specific issue, longer-term open-ended therapy, and couples counselling using a relational and Imago-informed approach.

Areas of focus

I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, identity and life transitions, perinatal distress (including infertility, IVF, pregnancy loss, and the postnatal period), and the after-effects of critical incidents. I have particular experience supporting expatriate and multicultural clients, and professionals working in high-pressure or high-risk environments.

Languages

I work fluently in English and French. Many of my clients are bilingual or multilingual, and choosing the language of therapy, or sometimes switching between languages within a session, can itself be part of the work.
