Therapy & Counselling in Chamonix

About Fleur Jaworski-Richards

Therapist / Psychopraticienne in Les Houches, providing English & French Counselling in the Chamonix Valley

I am a UKCP-registered psychotherapeutic counsellor, trained at the Metanoia Institute in London in relational Transactional Analysis psychotherapy. Based in Les Houches in the Chamonix valley, I work with individuals and couples in English and French, in person and online across France and internationally.

Transactional Analysis understands that the patterns formed in early life - in how we were related to, what we learned to expect from others, and how we learned to protect ourselves - shape how we feel, relate, and respond in the present. I work relationally, which means I don't simply help you manage symptoms; I work with you to understand where they come from.

I work at your pace, with your goals in mind. We might explore recurring patterns in your relationships or your sense of self. We might work with what's happening in your body as well as your thoughts. We might gently examine the beliefs you hold about yourself that have never quite been questioned.

The work looks different for everyone - but the intention is always the same: to help you understand yourself more clearly, and to give you more genuine choice about how you live and relate.

My work is also informed by current research in neuroscience and neuroplasticity - the brain's capacity to form new patterns throughout life. This shapes how I work at a deeper, often unconscious level, supporting the kind of change that lasts rather than the kind that has to be constantly maintained.

Sessions are held in a calm, confidential space in Les Houches, in the Chamonix valley, or online for clients across France and internationally.

Working with couples

With couples and partners, I draw on Imago Relationship Therapy alongside my Transactional Analysis training. Imago understands that the patterns playing out between partners are rarely only about the present - they often carry echoes of much earlier relational experience. My work with couples is about helping you hear each other more truly, recognise what each of you is really asking for, and find ways of being together that feel less reactive and more connected.

I work with intimacy, connection, and the difficulty of being truly known by another person - questions that sit at the heart of any close relationship. I welcome couples and partnerships of all kinds, including same-sex couples, polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, and partnerships across cultures and languages.

The shape of your relationship is yours to define; my role is to help you understand it more clearly and live it more fully.

Working with trauma

I also work with trauma responses following critical incidents. This can be with people in the immediate aftermath of acute events, or those who have experienced cumulative traumatic events over extended periods of time.

Background

Alongside my clinical training, I bring more than twenty-five years of professional experience working closely with people - listening carefully, making sense of complexity, and staying with difficulty when it arises.

I am also a qualified executive coach, accredited with the International Coaching Federation.
