Relationships can be one of the most rewarding, and challenging, parts of life. When couples come to therapy, they’re often navigating disconnection, recurring conflict, or emotional distance. My approach to couples therapy in Chamonix is grounded in two powerful frameworks: Relational Transactional Analysis and Imago Relationship Therapy.
These approaches provide couples with the tools not just to solve problems, but to truly understand one another, deepen emotional intimacy, and co-create a more secure, compassionate relationship.

A Collaborative Space for Understanding
In our sessions together, I create a safe, non-judgmental space where both partners can feel heard. Whether you’re attending in-person in Chamonix or connecting with me online from elsewhere in France, my goal is to support each partner in expressing their experience while staying connected to the other.
Relational Transactional Analysis for Couples
Relational TA offers a powerful lens for exploring how early patterns of relating influence the way we communicate, argue, withdraw, or seek closeness, in adult relationships. Many of us carry unconscious relational “scripts” from childhood that shape how we engage with our partner.
Through this lens, we’ll explore:
How each partner’s past experiences influence present dynamics
The roles or patterns that show up during conflict (e.g. withdrawal, blame, caretaking)
How to build awareness of these patterns, and step out of them
Relational TA places emphasis on the therapeutic relationship, which means our work together mirrors real-life interactions. This gives us a living, breathing space to notice and gently shift how you relate, both to yourselves and to each other.
Imago Therapy: Healing Through Dialogue
Imago Therapy brings a structured, intentional approach to couples counselling. It focuses on how romantic partners often unconsciously choose each other based on unmet needs from childhood. Conflict, then, is not a sign of incompatibility, but an opportunity for healing and growth.
In Imago sessions, I guide couples through:
The Imago Dialogue, a practice of listening, mirroring, validating, and empathising
Recognising each partner’s core emotional needs
Turning conflict into a pathway toward connection
This method slows things down. It helps both people feel safe enough to truly listen, and be heard.
When Might Couples Therapy Help?
Couples seek therapy for many reasons, including:
Repeating cycles of conflict or emotional disconnection
Navigating life transitions (parenthood, relocation, loss)
Rebuilding trust after betrayal
Feeling more like flatmates than partners
Wanting to improve communication and emotional intimacy
Whether you’re in crisis or simply wanting to strengthen your bond, relationship counselling offers a space to explore what’s working, what’s not, and what’s possible.
A Culturally Sensitive, Bilingual Approach
As an English-speaking therapist in France, I understand the unique pressures that cross-cultural couples, expatriates, and blended families face. Therapy can be offered in English or French, depending on your needs.
Final Thoughts
Every couple has their own rhythm, challenges, and story. By integrating Relational Transactional Analysis and Imago Therapy, I help partners slow down, listen differently, and move toward a more conscious, connected relationship.
